Mentorship - A Valuable Tool for Young Attorneys

Frank Mann is an attorney in Houston, Texas. In conjunction with his work as an attorney, Frank Mann participates in the Houston Bar Association’s Mentor/Mentee Program.

The Mentor/Mentee Program pairs people with three years of licensed legal experience or less with counterparts who have been licensed for at least five years. In this setting, mentors spend a year advising mentees in a wide range of areas related to the practice of law. Mentors typically meet with mentees on a monthly basis to hold discussions on mutually agreed-upon professional topics, and to offer advice on subjects like career advancement and law practice economics.

Working with a mentor can have a significant impact on the personal success of young professionals looking to further career growth. A mentor can provide motivation and support to young professionals who are just beginning to navigate the career path they have chosen, helping them to avoid major mistakes through the sharing of personal experience. Additionally, working with a mentor can help younger professionals to broaden their professional networks, which can lead to valuable professional opportunities.
